Meet the Librarians

Librarian, Dee Anne Hinkle

I grew up in and around Austin, graduating from Leander High School and The University of Texas.  I went on to teach 2nd, 3rd and 5th grades for 23 years before obtaining a master's degree from The University of North Texas in order to pursue a library position.  Coming to Elgin, with its small town values, to accept my first librarian job in the brand new Neidig Elementary School is a dream come true.  I love working with children of all ages and their bright shining smiles are a welcome sight in the library all day every day.  Creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that is academically supportive has been my goal for the Neidig Library so that it is not only a place where children want to come, but so that I can support the educational goals of Elgin ISD at the same time.  I live in Round Rock with my two sons, one at Stony Point High School and one at Texas State University.  I am happy to be the librarian at Neidig as well as being an Elgin Wildcat!

Assistant, Lori Everage

Hello! My name is Lori Everage. I have 2 children. My daughter is in 8th grade and my son is in 12th grade. I live on a ranch in Elgin and have many cows, horses, dogs, and a rooster!  I started substituting at all the Elgin schools but mainly Neidig and the Middle school.  I was fortunate to get a full time position at Neidig Elementary.  I enjoy being around children and love reading books.  I am looking forward to an exciting school year and many more to come.
